LUIS Miguel "Igi" Maximo bursts into action today armed with yet another feather in his cap, as he competes in the Cebu Cycling Criterium Road Race at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Maximo will be racing today using a new sponsor's product, the Lazer Bike Helmets, which is a Belgian helmet manufacturer known for making helmets since 1919.

"I am very happy that a company in Europe has supported me.  Top of the line cycling equipment is expensive and what LAZER has provided will be of great help in my sport" said Maximo, the three-time Junior champion of Philippine Premiere Cycling League.

"This is part of the grassroots development program of YKK Trading, where we support young, upcoming junior cyclists in the community, who shows potential both in the sport as well as in their studies." said James Montecillo, the top honcho of YKK.

The race today will be a 36-kilometer salvo.  Tomorrow, he will shift to mountainbike racing as he joins the V12 Radgear MTB Race in Labangon, where he is entered in the cross country event./CORRESPONDENT JONAS PANERIO.
