"The Fizik saddles is very comfortable to sit on even if you have to ride 90km.  Its like sitting on a sofa."  matud ni Maximo

Gawas ni Maximo, laing Sugbuanong mipakita og maayong labok sa maong lumba mao ang The Freeman columnist nga si JV Araneta, kinsa mipahiluna sa ikawalong dapit sa oras ng 2:27:48. (Lemuel Maglinte).

Cebu, Philippines - Promising Cebuano junior cyclist Luis Miguel "Igimax" Maximo of YKKBikes bagged the juniors title in Stage 1 of the 90-kilometer Tour of Bohol over the weekend.

The 16-year-old Igimax, a fourth year high school student and Student Council President of PAREF-Springdale, finished the lung-busting race in two hours, 53 minutes and 23 seconds.

"It was a tough race for me. I was behind by 33 minutes from the overall winner and that is a big gap in our sport. I could have done better if not for a stomach upset (hyper acidity) during race day," said the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) awardee.

It was also the first time that Igimax made use of his new equipment courtesy of Fizik, an Italian cycling company which is the lalest addition to his growing list of corporate backers.

"What I like most about the race is that I was able to try my new equipment provided by Fizik and YKK. The Fizik saddle is very comfortable to sit on even if you have to ride 90 kilometers," Igimax said.

Another Cebuano rider and The Freeman columnist JV Araneta also made a good showing as he landed at eighth place in the men's open category 4 with the time of two hours, 27 minutes and 48 seconds.

CEBU, Philippines - Luis Miguel "Igimax" Maximo, Cebu's most popular junior cyclist, will test an equipment from a new sponsor as well as apply whatever he learned out of his trip from Spain in the two-day Tour of Bohol today.

Maximo has just been sponsored by Fizik through YKK Trading. Fizik is an Italian cycling company that manufactures high performance saddles.

"I am thankful for the support they have given me. I know that Fizik saddles are the best in cycling. The seat is made of high quality material and it won't hurt my butt even if I do a century (100km) ride. Aside from that, it is very light at 175grams which helps keep my racing bike lightweight,” said the 16 year-old Igimax.

The Fizik saddle will be good for the Paref-Springdale Student Council president and top athlete as he puts his learnings out of watching the Giro de Italia and Vuelta a España live.

“How I feel of my ride with the Fizik saddle, I will have to inform them for their Research & Development (R&D) efforts," added Igimax, who is also backed up by Ridley, Token, Lazer, FSA, Kenda, YKK and OZ Racing.

Aside from Igimax, several executive and veteran riders from Cebu will also see action in the Bohol event, which features a 90-kilometer road race from Loay to Jagna (vice versa) and an individual time trial covering 20 kilometers from Loay to Bilar via the man-made forest. - (THE FREEMAN)
