LOONEY TUNES KIDDIE RUN

Looney Tunes run on at Alabang Hills The Philippine Star >> News >> Sports: "Staged to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among kids aged 4-12 years old and their parents, the event is a Warner Bros. project and supported by Alaska, Timex watches, Nestle Ice Cream, PT Kino, Sterling, JC Lucas, and Advance notebooks.

Meanwhile, the kiddie fun run will go to Southville International School at 1281 Tropical Avenue corner Lacson Road St. BF Homes International, Las PiƱas City on Aug. 3, 4-5 p.m. while the Reedley International School along E. Rodriguez St. Jr. Avenue Ugong Norte in Quezon City will host the final leg on Aug. 7 from 1-3 p.m.

Capping the seven-week fun run is a running festival on Aug. 30 at the SM Mall of Asia featuring 3K and 5K runs with 3-on-3 basketball competitions slated in the afternoon."

New Balance stages fund-raising fun run The Philippine Star >> News >> Sports: "MANILA, Philippines - New Balance will hold a fund-raiser for cancer patients as it stages the New Balance Power Run Raising Hope on Sept. 27 at the Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Proceeds of the event, also held to generate awareness on cancer prevention, will go to the Carewell or Cancer Resource and Wellness Community, Philippine Cancer Society and ICanServe Foundations, groups which help cancer victims and educate people on how to deal and prevent the disease."...

CEBUANO CYCLIST EARNS SLOT IN RP TEAM

Another Cebu cyclist earns slot in RP team The Freeman >> The Freeman Sections >> Cebu Sports: "CEBU, Philippines – Another Cebuano cyclist in John Rene Mier made it to the national team. His might will be tested soon as he was named as one of the country’s representatives to the 16th Asian Junior Cycling Championships in Indonesia on August 15 to 20.

Mier earned a slot into the RP Juniors on account of his impressive performance in the team’s final try out last week in Manila.

Mier, a student of Punta Princesa Night High School, is the son of Cebu Sports Hall of Famer Renato Mier, a bronze medalist in the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, India.

Interestingly, two other members of the RP junior squad are also sons of former top cyclists namely Candido Quirimit Jr. and George Oconer.

LAGUNA ALL-TERRAIN RACE

Laguna all-terrain race fires off Sunday - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos: "MANILA, Philippines - A forest trail in a 15-kilometer course that has never been opened before to the public awaits runners and bikers in Sunday's 4th Men’s Health All-Terrain race at Sta. Elena in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Trail race participants will compete in the 5km, 10km, and 15km categories, while those competing in the bike race must complete a maximum of three laps."...

KAPAMILYA RUN

Sibayan, Delos Santos top 10k open - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos: "On the other hand, Mischelle Gilbuena and Joel Delposo ruled the 5k women and men’s open, respectively

Gilbuena ruled the women’s 5k open after clocking 20:55 followed by Vlessica Jagna (21:27.0.0) and Haziel Retavale (21:50.0).

The men’s open was won by Delposo, who finished with a time of 16:40. Jess Gonzaga trailed closely with a time of 16:54 while Miljone Luterte clocked 17:18 to settle for third.

In the 3k boys 12-under, Prince Joey Lee clocked 12:04 to emerge victorious while Marlon Beboso timed 12:37 to finish second. Rozel Ardiente secured the third spot with a time of 13:04.0.

In the 3k girls 12-under, Diongson sisters secured the top two spot with Crizel taking the lead after clocking 13:38 while Clarisse finishing second with 13:47. Love Fe Andrin took the third spot with a time of 14:12."...
