CEBUANO cycling prodigy Luis Miguel “Igi” Maximo plunges back into action today as he sets out to win the individual time trial (ITT) event of the prestigious Philippine Premier Cycling League at the Daan Hari, Muntinlupa City, Manila.
The race, otherwise known as the “Race For Truth” will pit Maximo, himself a three-time winner in the PPCL, against the clock. Cyclists start in one minute intervals with the one owning the fastest time getting the win.
The Junior category ITT race is a 12km route in the undulating Daang Hari road that connects Muntinlupa City to Cavite. The venue was also used during the Tour ng Pilipanas. Maximo will be up against cyclists and triathletes from Manila and the Luzon.
Admittedly, Maximo is still trying to improve on his time in the ITT race and he will try his best to better his efforts in this event. “Among the cycling disciplines, it is in ITT that I need to improve. I did good in road racing and criterium in my past races, which I got more experience here in Cebu, but it is in ITT that I have to work out more.
