A grudge title match today between the University of San Carlos and the University of San Jose-Recoletos highlights the final day of CESAFI’s football competition at USC Talamban football field.

USC will try to avenge its loss to USJ-R in the elimination round that nearly booted them out of title contention, and repeat as champion.

USJ-R, on the other hand, seeks redemption after USC beat them in the title match last year.

Games today: USC Talamban Football Field

8am - USPF vs. UC (battle for third)

10am- USC vs. USJ-R (championship game)

Both USC and USJ-R barged into the final after winning their crossover semifinal games.

USC showed too much class in blanking the University of Southern Philippines Foundation 5-0.

USJ-R found itself on top of the standings after erstwhile leader the University of the Visayas got the axe for allegedly using two players with “academic deficiency.”

The Jaguars didn’t disappoint after getting the top spot and went on to beat the University of Cebu 2-0.

UC and USPF will provide the appetizer for the championship game as they play for third place.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
