His might will be tested soon as he was named as one of the country’s representatives to the 16th Asian Junior Cycling Championships in Indonesia on August 15 to 20.

Mier earned a slot into the RP Juniors on account of his impressive performance in the team’s final try out last week in Manila.

Mier, a student of Punta Princesa Night High School, is the son of Cebu Sports Hall of Famer Renato Mier, a bronze medalist in the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, India.

Interestingly, two other members of the RP junior squad are also sons of former top cyclists namely Candido Quirimit Jr. and George Oconer.
