MANILA BULLETIN. Baguio City — Mark Guevarra has already proven how fast he can race on flats. Now he also proved his noted mountain-climbing skill when he conquered the 44-kilometer, 1,450-m Marcos Highway summit en route to a fifth lap victory and the yellow jersey in the 2009 Liquigaz Tour of Luzon.
Only a freak accident can stop Guevarra from clinching the coveted title and the top prize P50,000, and earning the distinction as the first cyclist to win the revival of the tour that stopped operation in 1975.
