LAZER SPONSORS CEBUANO JUNIOR CYCLIST IGIMAX

LAZER Bike Helmets (www.lazersport.com), a Belgian helmet manufacturer, has decided to support upcoming Cebuano junior cyclist Luis Miguel “Igi” Maximo (www.pabolfc.com) by sponsoring and providing his bike helmets for cycling training and races.

Through, its Philippine distributor, Cebu-based YKK Trading owned by James Montecillo, Igi Maximo will now be using the LAZER road and time trial helmets for his road races and time trial events.

Established in 1919, LAZER, with headquarters in Belgium, designs, manufactures and markets its bicycle, motorcycle and leisure helmets In more than 50 countries, over 5 continents.

LAZER, the world’s oldest helmet manufacturer still in activity, is the result of over 90 years of experience, passion and dedication. The objective has always been to find an excellent synergy between, design, comfort, safety and technology.

“I am very happy that a company in Europe has supported me. Top of the line cycling equipment is expensive and what LAZER has provided will be of great help in my sport” said Igimax, the 3-time Junior champion of Philippine Premiere Cycling League.

“This is part of the grassroots development program of YKK Trading where we support young, upcoming juniors cyclists in the local community who shows potential both in the sport as well as in their studies” said James Montecillo, the top honcho of YKK.

SAC awardee Igimax will test the road helmet in time for tomorrow’s Cebu Cycling Criterium Road Race, a 36km 15 laps race in Mandaue reclamation. Last February 5, Igi won 3rd Place – Men Open Category C in the Sinulog Criterium held in the same venue.

In the Dayo Bros Triathlon held last Saturday, Igimax, using a racing bike fitted with Token carbon wheelset and Kenda tires, won the Gold Medal in the Relay Category with his Springdale teammates Alex Qui and RJ Lao.

On Sunday, Feb 27, Igimax will shift to mountainbike racing and gain more exposure in Off Road events by joining the V12 Radgear MTB Race in Labangon, Cebu City.
