CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) and University of Cebu (UC) defeated separate foes in contrasting fashion to arrange a title duel in the collegiate division of the 10th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) football tournament yesterday at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center (USC-TC) field in Brgy. Talamban, this city.

USJ-R scored a 5-0 whitewash of USC, while UC eked out a 4-3 victory over the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF).

Junjun Pintuan broke the ice of the match at the 4th before Adrianne Mejaran found the back of the net at the 13th to give USJ-R a 2-0 cushion at halftime.

As USC stayed on deep offensive slumber, Pintuan sustained USJ-R sizzling run with a goal at the 51st. Agapito Baclaan then sneaked in back-to-back goals at the 69th and 86th to seal the Spiking Jaguars' masterful rout of the Carolinians.
