CEBU, Philippines - The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu hammered the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 5-1, to clinch the secondary division championship of the 2010 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) football event yesterday at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center (USC-TC) field in Brgy. Talamban, this city.

The USJ-R booters broke the ice of the match courtesy of Emmarson Resmeros at the 16th, but that proved to be their only bright moment as Sacred Heart- Ateneo responded with back-to-back goals from Wilfred Villaver and Peter Pena at the 17th and 25th to take a 2-1 edge at halftime.

Vinson Nery continued Sacred Heart-Ateneo's blistering offensive with a goal at the 64th before Keefee Yap and Pomeroy Luke Veloso joined the onslaught at the 72nd and 76th to seal the deal for the charging Ateneans. (FREEMAN NEWS)
