THE UNIVERSITY of the Southern Philippines (USPF) looks to win against the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) to take over the top spot as the 10th CESAFI High School Football Championship resumes today at the University of San Carlos – Technological Center (USC-TC) in barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

A win against the defending champions would give the USPF a total of nine points as it will be playing its last match in the elimination round.

This will, however, be no easy task as DBTC has played a seemingly perfect game so far, having conceded only a goal against 21 of its own. DBTC also has in its lineup Miguel Caindec, who is the top goalscorer of the tournament with seven so far. However, just a goal behind Caindec is USPF’s Jacob Omega.

In the second game, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) will try to solidify its hold of the third place as it sees action against the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R).

Both teams have three points. But SHS-AdC has the advantage of having a goal difference of one, while USJ-R only managed to find the back of the net once and conceded four goals in two matches. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
