AFTER a disappointing loss last week, collegiate division defending titleholder University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) bounced back and routed the University of Cebu (UC), 3-0, yesterday in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. at the University of San Carlos-Technology center pitch.

It was USJ-R’s first win after its 2-1 loss to the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) last week.

Both teams failed to score in the first half despite USJ-R’s advantage in possession.

In the second, Junjun Pintuan opened the scoring in the 53rd before Agapito Baclaan Jr. made it 2-0 in the 77th. Junifer Ebero got the final goal.

In the second game, USPF handed the University of the Visayas its second loss, 1-0, to take the top spot from USC.

Rene Sanchez Jr. scored the lone goal in the 58th minute for USPF’s second win in the tournament.

USPF has six points on two wins for the No. 1 spot, overtaking USC, which has four points on a win and a draw.
