CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos (USC) booters sent an ominous warning to their rivals on their serious championship campaign after they pulled off a methodical victory over the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) at the start of the collegiate competition in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) football event yesterday at the USC-Technological Center field in Brgy. Talamban, this city.

Showing pure skills that went along with the so-called 'homecourt' magic, the Carolinians easily thrashed the USPF visitors, 3-0.

Among those who delivered goals for USC were Folkhanes Anthony at the 4th and 51st and Kyle Soriano at the 53rd.

Tension flared in the highly-physical match that resulted into the issuance of several red and yellow cards to both camps.

Among those who were slapped with yellow cards in the USC side were Regin Lubiano, Karl Arcenas, Ronnie Cumba, Patrick Uno, while assessed with the same infraction from the USPF were Aljohn Armamento, Rene Sanchez, Jehiel Pelanio and Adrian Pitogo.

Those who were penalized with red cards that will automatically serve one-game suspension were Kyle Soriano and Josephus Bernaldez of USC and Edmar Galacio of USPF. (FREEMAN)
