CEBU – The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) repeated over the University of San Carlos (USC), handing the latter a 1-0 defeat at the USC Technology Football pitch yesterday, in CESAFI football.

Adrianne Mejaran found the net midway in the second half to give USJ-R the chance to defend its crown against the winner of the USPF-UV match.

USJ-R and USC played aggressive and furious football before that marginal goal resulting in three players from both sides getting yellow cards.

Last week, USJ-R and USC also played a tough match won by the former, which enabled them to gain a semis seat.

USC, the 2004 champions, will have to be content to play for third place against the losers of the other semifinal match pitting USPF and UV. – THE FREEMAN
