The booters of the University of the Visayas (UV) registered the upset of the tournament as they ousted the top-seeded University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), 1-0, to make it to the championship round of the Cesafi football tournament at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center football field in Talamban.

The finals matchup will see the bottom two teams of the remaining four squads battling it out for the much-coveted title.

Defending champions University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) got another shot at defending its title after it eked past the second-seeded University of San Carlos (USC), 1-0, in the other semis pairing.

UV, though, suffered a possibly debilitating blow as it will be playing without top striker Junard Aguilar in the finals after he was booked with a red card at the 54th minute of the intensely-fought encounter. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
