CARMEN CEBU MTB TOURNEY

CEBU, Philippines - Over a hundred mountainbikers are expected to see action in the 1st Mayor’s Cup Mountainbike Race in Carmen today.

The organizers will provide a truck for the riders who need a ride to Carmen.The vehicle will be at the White Gold Club early today.

The event will start off with a motorcade from the Carmen municipal hall up to the race venue in Brgy. Baring.

Multi-titled RP rider NiƱo Surban leads the cast of competitors in the circuit racing.

Another RP team rider John Mier and the fast-rising Luis Miguel “Igi” Maximo of Paref-Springdale have also been counted in to see action.

Five categories will be contested namely open-expert, junior-senior, veteran-masters, beginners-executive, and fatboys-goldenboys.

The top three winners in each class will receive cash prizes, while the fourth and fifth will be given medals.

Proceeds of the fund-raising activity will be for the ongoing renovation of the Carmen parish church.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN NEWS)
