CEBU, Philippines - Lito Pastedio ruled the latest edition of the Cebu Cycling Weekly Race the other day at the Mandaue City reclamation area.
Pastedio outlasted a bunch of young and veteran pedal-pushers to dominate class C covering a total of 36 kilometers.
Tata Sy grabbed the second place honors followed by Calixto Cruz.
Danny Simbajon landed fourth, while former RP mountainbiker Nanie Perez grabbed the fifth spot.
The latest talk-of-the-town, Paref-Springdale’s Luis Miguel “Igi” Maximo, also saw action and came out the youngest participant at 14 years old.
Maximo could have done better, but having lack of sleep a night before the latest criterium caused him to slow down.
The young cyclist had a late night football game prior to the race. Interestingly, Igi sank the game-clinching goal in Springdale's 1-0 win over Bright Academy in the 14-under division of the 7th Thirsty Cup football tournament at the Cebu City Sports Center. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
